Better late than never
Finally getting round to pimping this old wooden art box 😆
One mans junk, is another person's treasure. Found this huge crayon/pastel box chucked away. So nice turning into me free line River Float Box. Went a bit mad visiting Bailey's of Warwick. Glad did though, especially love The Dave Harrell floats their Awsome ! Few more of DH to add, many old classics from collection. Looking forward to giving this a little rub down, varnish 🎣Making Contact: anglingwithshaun@gmail.com
Certainly purchased alot more floats since intended to sort this old art box out. Yet more Dave Harrell floats, very good quality floats.
One man's junk is another man's treasure
Certainly in need of a good clean, and a rub down with sandpaper. Not a particularly great box, cheap softwood, unlike a nice bit of hardwood Oak for example. However will do as a nice box to store indoors, not suitable for harsh outdoor elements.
Been in storage since finding. Absolutely filthy dirty, deep grained. A good rub down with warm soapy water, and a heavy duty Scotch-brite.
A bit more cleaning needed, heavily soiled. Dried thourally to avoid wood warping and now air drying. Still a little cleaning get the scrubbing brush out later.
Let's just say being an ex painter and decorator, among other maintenance trades, think it's fair to say got enough sandpaper.
Once dry will be givung a good rub down. Gone for a nice bit of quality Hiomant little clog P120 non grit. Very good Made in Finland. Due to health COPD, be wearing a face mask, which should do anyway regardless of health. My problems can partly be yraced back to years of working onsite, plaster, brick, paint, wood dust not wearing a suitable mask. Always advisable to wear a mask 😷 in dusty conditions.
work in progress, thanks for your patience 🙏
