London Docks Isle of Dogs fishing session

Hi Folks about time started getting more stuck into this blog. Going to be doing more venue guides from now on. Meantime been out prebaiting and fishing The London Docks, Isle of Dogs, really hard going.

Hello Folks 👋 so yesterday evening was back out on The London Docks, Isle of Dogs, for a few hours. Couldn't believe eyes, spotted an Otter 😲 Yes ! The rumours are 100% true, literally to shocked to grab camera in time before vanishing. 

Whatever few big fish where left in here, after years of Cormorant Predation ☠️ and poaching for the plate 🍽 since Millwall Angling Club closing, now fair to say, the final nail has been well and truly hammered 🔨 in the coffin ⚰️ 

Going to be totally honest with you all, put in hundreds, if not thousands of hours, with little to show for efforts, don't document every outing. The old saying effort equals rewards, got to be in it to win it. 

However there is also a saying location, location and location. Don't matter even if your the greatest angler in the world without fish in front of you, not catching nothing. So is it time, this Otter Sighting the final straw, to throw the towel in once and for all on The London Docks, Isle of Dogs 🤔 seriously think so, had the patience of a Saint, however not getting any younger, none of us are. Now literally running out of time, as health slowly fades, and the years tick by ever faster ⏳️ 

Actually become bored senseless in recent months with my fishing, need some excitement, re ignite 🔥 mojo. Despite literally weeks, coming on months of prebaiting, have very little confidence of actually catching one of the very rare carp in this dock. Now at the lowest of low, to be totally honest spotting an Otter has finished me. 

Time to face reality and facts, been beaten, unless really invest in expensive fish finding sonar equipment, money not got, could spend another lifetime sitting it out in hope 😔

Hi Folk's, this is a new blog post, be adding much more in time, so currently a starting point, rather than the finished article. Where better to start with my latest new rod, kindly sent by Rigged and Ready. Before going any further, not Sponsored, or affiliated with any company. As such always remained independent, not treated my hobby as a Business venture on Social Media. However occasional over the years have received the odd gift here and there. So as a result going to give a Massive Shout Out to this wonderful Company, based in Kendal, The Lake District, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 United Kingdom 🇬🇧 Now fair enough one good dead, deserves another, so could possibly lie through my back teeth and say WoW 👌 This is the Best bit of kit ever. Or could put my hand on my heart ❤️ tell the Trurh and say OMG 😲 this is an absolutely Banging Top Piece of kit. Either way choose the path to tell the truth. What your getting here is a top piece of kit, absolutely 💯👌Was so impressed with this rod build and reel, that immediately ordered their Travel Landing net, more on that later, and will be purchasing more of their Travel Rods in the future.

Just a heads up next City will be Liverpool. Want to see Goodison Park home of Everton Football Club since 1892. The ground will be getting knocked down after their final game in May.

Please note not a Fan of Everton, just part of the journey and Liverpool History.

Shall be doing some sea fishing. Be taking my new travel rod and reel by Rigged and Ready.

Just a reminder Angling Odyssey 'Catch A Fish From All 76 UK Cities Returns 🇬🇧 Next stop will be The City of Liverpool. Will visit Everton Football Club's Ground Goodison Park before getting knocked down. Their final game will be against Southampton on Sunday 18th May.

Shall be taking in all the usual sites for two days, a couple of days fishing. Look forward to visiting and sharing with you all.

Yes Folk's, F**K Cancer and Heart Disease ! Having just been diagnosed with Coronary Heart Disease, a number of minor heart attacks, losing a close Dear Friend recently to cancer, returning to do my Angling Odyssey Again 'Catch a fish in all 33 London Authorities' part 2...

Gave myself 12 months to complete last time, left till the last few months at the worst of weather in the cold of winter. This time will be doing in the warmer months, more chance of fish feeding. It's going to be a race against clock. Plan to complete in days... Shall be doing this for charity, finalising details at a later date. The plan this time round, be doing to raise funds for Heart Charity... More details to follow

Hello Folks 👋 As some of you may know just for the sake of it set out in 2017 to 'Catch A Fish From All 33 London Authorities' Please note was never a race gave myself 12 months, at the time continued travelling, leaving to the very last few months to complete in winter. This was my first Angling Odyssey, it was never a Race 🏁 

Since then someone has claimed to have done in a record time, even trying to claim as Guinness Book of Records 😆 Again was never ever a race, this person a copycat in my books, even referred to me as just some person who done in 12 months, no acknowledgement, even though my mission was well documented daily, not just one video on The BBC https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18ee1aZx89/

So Folk's yes it has rattled my cage since, as a result finally returning in 2026, not this year as planned to complete in the warmer weather. This time round if someone wants to turn my Odyssey into a race, claim a record, let's have it once and for all. Not only will it be a race against the clock, be doing for Charity, a year until event will give me enough time to focus on chasing Big Companies to raise funds. As I've been diagnosed with Heart Disease be looking to raise funds for a Heart Charity. 

Did I really want to go back again for another attempt, not really. However 7 years on will be interesting to revisit some places, especially to establish if still retain fish after so much pollution, predation from Cormorants, now Otters, including poaching. Coming in the summer of 2026, one last time.
