Gallions Canal, New Acres Road, Thamesmead, London

Gallions Canal, New Acres Road, is a short stretch of canal situated in Thamesmead, London Borough Of Greenwich. It is a Members Only water controlled by Thamesmead Town Angling Club.
Not to be confused with Thamesmead Canal. This is a different stretch. Over the years, different sections have disappeared, been changed route, filled in made way for roads, houses.
This particular section runs from Gallions Lake through to the end point as seen on map above, being shut off the end of stretch.
Exclusive to Club Members Only !
Controlled by Thamesmead Town Angling Club. Absolutely worth joining not just for the 4 lakes, but this wonderful short stretch of canal πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ£
Not only one fishing today. Admiring wildlife. Looking forward to owning digital camera. Phone taken some nice pictures up to now, however room for improvement πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ£

IBHOOKS fishing terminal tackle, hook and accessory boxes REVIEW

AWS Review: IB HOOKS terminal tackle, hook and accessory boxes 10/10

Good Afternoon Folk's,

AWS Review: IB HOOKS terminal tackle, hook and accessory boxes 10/10

Firstly would like to point out don't receive any such fishing tackle or baits from any company. Completely Independent, not sponsored, all my Fishing tackle is purchased by working hard, spending own money.

Unlike many reviews you will come across in the press, be it fishing tackle or any product we all know most such reviews are not true, honest or well tested. Often reviews are put together without any or little Field Testing.

Purchased these boxes some months back, and have put them through months of rugged testing. Not afraid to use them without fear of falling apart. Gone through extreme weather conditions, rain, snow and damp conditions. After all fishing tackle needs to be robust and withstand some form of abuse without falling apart after a few sessions.

Over the year's purchased many item's that have received high reviews in the press only to fall apart within one session let alone rigorous testing in the harshest outdoor conditions.

If spending your money you want the confidence of knowing an item will last.

Delighted to give these products by IBHOOKS a 10 star rating. Faultless and very much part of my everyday armoury. Did have a slight problem with one box, and contacted the company, which turned out to be a defective fault in manufacturing. The company where pleasant and sent out a brand new box at no extra charge next day delivery. Can't fault that Customer Service is paramount, including after care service.

Thanks very much IBHOOKS for such amazing products, and A1+ Service. Highly Recommended 10/10 product, delivery, after care customer service. Shall not hesitate in purchasing future products from this company.

Dungeness, The English Channel, Kent

AWS BLOG ENTRY: 26 May 19

Afternoon All,

Just arrived back home after a lovely night out. First off thanks Charlie for taking me and Sammy Boy to the coast.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip, certainly be visiting again, despite catching nothing big, or spectacular. Called fishing for a reason, not always about the catching. Was just glad to be out of the big smoke. Both caught loads of these annoying dogfish, and whiting. No bass unfortunately for anyone spoke to on the beach.
please follow LINK exclusive pictures, videos regular updates
An added bonus though for Charlie a nice first ever catch a Dover Sole, kindly gave, a nice fish supper tonight, regarded as The Rolls Royce of fish meat, according to Gordon Ramsey.
Mmm Yesssss the verdict, tasted great πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ£
Time for a nice bath, cup of tea, a few hours shut eye Zzz Zzz
Just getting dark on arrival, looking forward to a good night's fishing πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ£
AWS BLOG ENTRY : 25 May 19

Evening All,

Just arrived for a spot of night fishing in Dungeness, English County Of Kent.
Unfortunately plans to fish The City Of Brighton and Hove, English County Of Sussex was scrapped last minute due to no fresh bait lug and rag available en route. Got a phone call from Charlie at work panicking unable to get fresh bait. Phoned a few shops out of stock, ended up cycling 12 miles round trip to Anglers Direct in Crayford. As Charlie said deserve a nice bass for the effort.
Mind you on opening the supposedly 4 Wraps of lugworm ordered, was in fact 2 ragworm, and 2 lugworm. Very small to say the least, which we put down to bait being what let us down despite catching plenty of fish, bigger lugworm not tiny rags was the order of the day. Next time we shall come better prepared.
Baits in all set ready to roll πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ£
First catch Charlie is into a small doggy...
The times they are a changing. The new modern day era has seen an end to the job of 'Lighthouse Keeper. The old lighthouse still exists, but long since replaced with digital, computer unmanned light houses.
Big Baits! Big Fish! Not always the case. On The Squid.. but still catching them damn doggies!!!
Had a small whiting hardly worth a picture. Charlie back into another small dogfish
Nice one Charlie doggie and a Dover Sole
an interesting place to visit
Bait lugworm, ragworm, and squid.
Dover Sole, flip side
Good Morning All, the tide is high and the sun is rising. Sammy Boy enjoying his time by the seaside.
Pestesticles, shut up!

In the bad books! New surroundings, different people. He has been to the seaside before, however not in the dark. A pest today, not doing as he's told. Even scoffing my ham and cheese for sandwiches.
In the meantime Charlie is sleeping
Whilst his rigs are doing the business... Wake up Charlie
Mad to think Charlie has only been sea fishing a short while. He has taken to it like a duck on water. Only 27yrs of age has seen more big fish on the bank coarse fishing, and travelled more places and countries than most Anglers could only dream.
Blimey! Check out the new fishing rods, could only dream of buying. Keen as mustard πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸŽ£
In the meantime my old rods and Reels are giving up the ghost. Need to start investing more cash on sea gear.
"Arrrrrrrr broken rod tip not a happy bunny"
All the gear, and lots of idea, lot's of fish today. Years of Coarse Angling has been of real benefit, watching countless YouTube videos. All self taught sea fishing. Top Angling mate. Could say Green with envy lol πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸŽ£
Dogfish curl up like this it's a defensive mechanism referred to as 'balling'
Charlie must have been shattered after a hard week at work. Must have crashed out for a good 4 hours. Wake up! Your missing high tide.
Had my fair share now of doggy's and loads of whiting.
Wake Up! You got a bite on Charlie
Charlie did eventually wake up, not helped by Sammy Boy jumping on him πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ All jokes aside sorry mate was a pest, not normally so naughty.
Damn Dog! Sam leave the man alone for crying out loud! You don't know where he's been πŸ‘πŸ€£πŸŽ£

Hand Crafted Floats by Mike Cootes
Some of you maybe aware my passion for fishing floats. Been especially keen on purchasing some of Mike Cootes beautiful looking floats for sometime now. Then came across these new babies, couldn't resist the temptation any longer.

Been on the look out for a special float to tackle many of the fast, shallow rivers fish on a regular basis. Spotted these and had to contact Purplepeanut007 on Facebook straight away.  Not realising at first these where by Mike Cootes.

Order placed for next month, so looking forward to using these in the new coarse river season.

Shouldered Irwell Sticks.
Another upgrade to my shallow fast water trotters.

The Shouldered Irwell Sticks
are wider for more turbulent water than the MKIIs, have a bigger body and have a large step in them to stop any movement of the rubbers... Read more here: Purplepeanut007
